4th Anniversary Update

It's been a while... 4 years of Adventure of Leek! Here's a big update packed with new features.

MULTIPLAYER!?#

• Local 2–4 player co-op with a bubble system for dying or falling offscreen.
• Online 2–16 player co-op with Ghost Mode, Real-Time Synced Co-op, or Online Disabled.
• Connect / disconnect toast notifications, synced SFX, and on-screen death markers.

STEAM + DISCORD INTEGRATION#

• Steam Cloud Saves (your progress syncs across devices).
• Steam Timeline (captures key moments like boss defeats and achievements).
• Steam Rich Presence (shows your current level, mode, and lives remaining).
• Discord Rich Presence (your Discord status reflects what you're playing).
• 24 Steam Leaderboards (individual per-level scores and speedrun times).

UI + QUALITY OF LIFE#

• Settings accessible from the pause screen.
• Redesigned title screen and credits with smoother transitions.
• Player Replays (watch playback of your attempts on game over or level win).
• Redesigned settings hub with categories: Gameplay, Controls, Audio, Video, and Online.
• Custom key rebinding and controller glyph support (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Steam Deck, and more).

GAMEPLAY#

• World 3 levels redesigned and final boss rebalanced.
• Movement tuned to feel smoother based on player feedback.
• World unlock progression (beat each boss to unlock the next world).
• Coin-lives system: 100 coins = 1 extra life with a coin counter HUD.

LOCALIZATION + ACCESSIBILITY#

• German translation added.
• High-contrast UI option for better readability.
• Reduced motion, jump toggle, auto-double-jump, and 4 colorblind modes.

WHAT'S NEXT#

There's a little more on the way, this isn't the final update yet! Here's what we're currently working on:

• Korean localization.
• Mod support (custom sprites, SFX, glyphs, and more).
• Steam Input API support (native controller configuration through Steam).
• Full level editor with custom world creation and Steam Workshop support.
• More quality-of-life improvements.
• Potential console port...
